Nature’s miracle – It’s alive even when it’s not been fed since 44 years.

Can you imagine someone not being fed and alive? Probably you may think for few days or few months only. But here’s a nature’s miracle that it’s alive even when it’s not been fed with any water or fresh air since last 44 years and it’s a rare phenomenon.

Actually we are talking about this plant which was planted in 1960 by this man, David Latimer from  Cranleigh, Surrey. He last fed it in 1972 and stopped thereafter with a desire to experiment the same. But today also these plants are green.

The sealed pot containing the plant has a capacity of 38 liters and it’s deeply filled with the plant now. David is 80 now and it’s been assumed that the plant has developed it’s own ecosystem to stay alive for so many years without even being watered.

It’s surprising to know that in last 53 years this plant is being fed only once in 1972 before tightly sealing it as an experiment. The hardy spiderworts has grown inside to fill the 10 gallon jar surviving entirely on water, nutrients and recycled air.

Vintage Vehicle into an Adorable Pop-Up Flower Shop by Fendi & Azuma Makoto

Designed in collaboration between Fendi and botanical-wizard Azuma Makoto, this pop-up flower shop is the cutest thing on 3 wheels. The piece was created to promote the 2016 Spring/Summer Collection by Fendi, which has a theme all about flower power. Naturally, the company sought Makoto’s expertise, as he is one of the most talented floral artists in the world today.

The installation was built on an “Ape,” a vehicle produced by the Italian carmaker Piaggio and designed by the inventor of the Vespa. Originally it was created to aid the struggling citizens in post-war Italy. Today, it stands in the Ginza Flagship store, completely covered in flora.

Diana Beltran Herrera paper aviary comprises hundreds of sculptural birds, flowers, plants and insects.

Diana Beltran Herrera, is a Colombian designer and artist who has been working over the past years with paper as the primary medium in the production of her work.

Herrera has exhibited in her country as well as participating in solo and group shows in Europe, Asia and USA. Her recent commissions includes a piece for the Festival of ideas (program developed by Bristol City Council), and her first solo show in Asia (Jakarta, Indonesia) supported by the Embassy of Colombia in Indonesia and Cancilleria de Colombia en el Exterior.

Artistic work with paper is often meticulous and exact, requiring a healthy dose of patience, a knowledge of materials, and a steady hand. Herrera’s handiwork has seen the making of more than 100 construction paper and cardboard birds, fish, flower, plants and insects. Her colorful collection of birds is sculpted with a precise hyper-realism that matches the personalities and peculiarities of species from the great Hornbill to the European goldfinch.

The birds begin with a structural framework, also made from paper. Interwoven cardboard sheets form a sturdy foundation for the layers Herrera then applies. Each exterior sheet is carefully cut in tiny, oblong shapes that resemble individually plucked feathers. a fringe-like texture sliced into each edge mimics the wispy texture of actual plumage. The bird takes shape as Herrera meticulously attaches each colored quill, finally forming both large and small scale species that are nearly identical to their living, physical counterpart.

Throw to grow campaign – Give growth for generations

image

Please circulate this message as far and to as many people as you can.

This is the season of fruits like mango, jamun, jack fruit Etc.

My request to all of us is to kindly don’t throw the seeds, wash them, dry them and keep it in a plastic pouch in your car.

Whenever you go out and find baren land while travelling, on a highway throw these seeds. They will germinate easily the coming monsoon.

If with this act we can contribute even a single tree to our mother nature, our mission is successful.

This is not just a random idea. It was initiated decades ago in areas like satara and ratnagiri in maharastra and have been successful. Many other districts have appealed to people to spread abundance in nature this way and many citizens have joined this wonderful mission.

It would be wonderful if all of us join this great mission and contribute a little towards our mother nature and make this world a better place to live in for our next generations.
